If you think all cable installs are done correctly, or wonder why it is so important to do it correctly, look at these pictures. This exemplifies the reason it is so important to sleeve and fire stop cable paths. When this procedure is skipped, it allows fire to travel faster through a wall.
NOTE: This fire was NOT caused by the cabling. This fire and related damage was the result of the building taking a direct lightning strike. We were called in to replace the damaged voice and data equipment. In addition we tested and replaced all damaged voice and data cabling.
